1) The World Tango Museum
The World Tango Museum, which was inaugurated in December 2003, is situated above the famous Cafe Tortoni in downtown Buenos Aires. Tango is an icon of Argentina and its people, and here you can find a lot of pictures and articles about the history and evolution of the famous dance. You'll find out more about every generation of tango from Gardel and Contursi, De Caro, Mores, Piazzolla and the dancers of the present day.

2) Severo Vaccaro Museum of Comic and Caricature
The Severo Vaccaro Museum of Comic and Caricature is the only museum of its kind in South America. The cartoon museum was created in 1950 after Severo Vaccaro's death by his brother. Inside you'll find six display rooms where you can enjoy works by Mayol, Eduardo Álvarez, Divito, Faruk, Lino Palacio and others. The museum exhibits the work of the most remarkable Argentinean cartoonists, and its holdings represent a great collection of satirical and humorous art.

3) Museum of the Cinema Pablo Ducrós Hicken
The Museum of the Cinema Pablo Ducrós Hicken was created in October 1971, and is located in the famous San Telmo area of Buenos Aires. The museum preserves a large number of works from Argentinean film heritage, of which Pablo Ducrós Hicken's own private collection forms a big part. Here you can find films starring Aida Luz, Afredo Alcon, Amelia Mirel, Susu Pecoraro, Fanny Navarro and more. There's also a Magic Lantern Exhibition and displays of other pre-cinematic devices.

4) Modern Art Museum (MAMBA)
The Buenos Aires Modern Art Museum was established on 11 April 1956, and had art critic Rafael Squirru as its first director. Today it's located in the heart of the San Telmo neighborhood, in a building that once served as the Piccardo tobacco factory. The museum hosts lots of different ground-breaking exhibitions, such as the Urban Animals Exhibition, as well as many art installations using sound and video.

5) La Boca Fine Arts Museum "Benito Quinquela Martin"
The La Boca Fine Arts Museum "Benito Quinquela Martin" was founded by the painter of the same name in 1936. Located in the La Boca neighborhood, it is an important cultural center for the promotion of Argentinean art and culture. The museum not only exhibits the paintings of its founder, but also embodies his philosophy by supporting local people and education initiatives in the area. Inside the museum you'll find works by Antonio Alice, Lino E. Spilimbergo, Fernando Fader and many more.
