Elmali
4) Elmali
Though the founding of Elmali is not known to historians, excavations show that the region has been populated for several thousand years, since the Bronze Age. Among the archaeological and historical treasures of Emali are the tombs of kings, a street ornamented with frescoes depicting hunting and fighting, and remarkable mosques. The so-called "treasure of the century" was excavated there in 1984, a collection of 1900 silver coins from the time of ancient Greek city-states.

Hidirlik Tower
7) Hidirlik Tower
An Antalyan landmark at the edge of Karaalioğlu Park, Hıdırlık Tower is made with yellowish-brown stone. Atop steep cliffs overlooking the harbor, it would have been very visible to ships approaching the city. Initially built on a square plan in the Hellenistic era, the upper level is a round tower from the 2nd century. Possibly used as a defensive lookout or a lighthouse, recent evidence indicates that this monument is actually a mausoleum.

Turkish Bath (Hamam) at Cender Hotel
12) Turkish Bath (Hamam) at Cender Hotel
A required experience during a vacation to Turkey is a trip to hamam or Turkish Bath. Traditionally, people would gather for ceremonies, socialization and gossip, as well as cleansing. You will pass through a series of rooms (camekan, hararet, etc.) to don a pestamal (fringed towel), linger in warm or hot rooms, and receive a thorough massage. Many hamams were built during the Ottoman period, and today you will find them in nearly any hotel in Turkey, including the Cender Hotel.

They are displayed in doorways, cars, or as jewelry worn by people of all ages, especially babies. Check out the Komaş Antalya Store as a source of these popular talismans.
