Atlanta is the capital of the state of Georgia. It was founded in 1837 as an international transport hub. Atlanta is known as "the city not too busy to care". It is also the city of many attractions that include museums, theaters, historic landmarks, shops, restaurants and cafes. Take this walk to explore some of Atlanta's top tourist attractions.

Centennial Olympic Park
1) Centennial Olympic Park
Created for the 1996 Summer Olympics, the Centennial Olympic Park covers an area of 21 acres and includes a park and different city heritage sites such as the CNN Center, the Georgia World Congress Center, the Georgia Dome and the Philips Arena. One of the most famous features of the park is the "Fountain of Rings" with dancing water and lights. A wonderful location to rest after a long day's city trip.

Georgia Aquarium
2) Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium opened in 2005. Today, it is the world's largest aquarium. The aquarium houses tens of thousands of underwater creatures. It has more than 60 different freshwater and marine habitats, 21000 square feet of viewing windows and more than 8 million gallons of fresh and marine water. The aquarium also features a 4-D theater and The Learning Loop.

World of Coca-Cola
3) World of Coca-Cola
The Coca-Cola World is an attraction dedicated to the world's best-known brand. It opened in 1990. You can explore the complete story of the Coca-Cola Company. It features interactive touch screen displays, a multi-sensory 4-D movie, a fully functioning bottling line and the opportunity to sample over 60 different products from around the world.

The Varsity
4) The Varsity
The original Varsity was opened in 1928 by Frank Gordy. Nowadays it is the worlds largest Drive-In Restaurant. The restaurant features a 150-foot long stainless steel counter, five television viewing rooms and an over 800 cover restaurant for customers. Its menu includes hot dogs, chili dogs, hamburgers, chili burgers, onion rings, French fries and special homemade desserts.

Fox Theater
5) Fox Theater
The Fox Theater was officially opened in 1920. It was built as a Yaarab Temple Shrine Mosque and features Moorish designs inside and outside. Its main features are the onion domes, minarets and arches, a colossal theater organ, called Mighty Mo, and of course the Egyptian Ballroom. Today, the theater is considered to be the last surviving "picture palace".

Margaret Mitchell House and Museum
6) Margaret Mitchell House and Museum
Margaret Mitchell House and Museum was opened in 1985. The house itself dates back to 1899. The museum's exhibition showcases the life of Margaret Mitchell. It contains an array of objects, manuscripts, personal correspondence, original photographs, archival materials and memorabilia related to Margaret Mitchell and "Gone With the Wind".

Atlanta Botanical Garden
7) Atlanta Botanical Garden
Atlanta Botanical Garden was opened in 1976. Its aim is to develop and maintain plant collections for display, education, research and conservation. The Botanical Garden houses the world's largest permanent orchid collection, interactive children’s garden, rare plants from tropical rain forests and desert regions, water features, poison dart frogs and also a garden café and a gift shop.

High Museum of Art
8) High Museum of Art
High Museum of Art was originally opened in 1905. It is housed in an amazing porcelain-enameled building. Today, the museum is considered to be one of the best art museums in south-eastern U.S. It contains permanent, and growing, collections of 19th-century landscape paintings, contemporary art, a decorative art section, European paintings and sculptures and also African masks and ceremonial figures.

Rhodes Hall
9) Rhodes Hall
Rhodes Hall was originally built in 1904. Today it is used as a house museum. The house was built in the Romanesque Revival Style, infused with fashionable Victorian elements. Rhodes Hall is one of the most stunning and unique architectural achievements in Atlanta.
