Tour Stops and Attractions
Basilique Saint-Seurin
1) Basilique Saint-Seurin
Dating all the way back to the 6th century, Basilique Saint-Seurin represents an impressive combination of architectural ideas. The façade for example, is built in a Romanesque style combining Gothic elements. Along the centuries, the church was rebuilt several times and different new elements were added, including columns and archways and the beautiful chapel Notre-Dame-de-la-Rose. UNESCO has designated Basilique Saint-Seurin as a World Heritage site.

Eglise Saint-Pierre
3) Eglise Saint-Pierre
Situated in the old area of the city, the magnificent Church of Saint-Pierre is one of the main attractions here. Registering an age of six centuries, the church has been renovated several times, but the facade still keeps its original design. This special place owns some distinguished artifacts, such as the Pieta - a great candelabra that illuminates greatly the interior - and a statue of Saint Pierre.

Saint Andre Cathedral
4) Saint Andre Cathedral
The Saint Andre Cathedral is the largest church in Bordeaux and a premier tourist attraction. The origins of the cathedral date back to the 11th century and today it is home to a number of 13th and 14th century sculptures and monuments. The most impressive feature of the building is the great upward sweep of the twin steeples.

This Gothic basilique was built at the end of the 14th century, and the 114 meters tall tower, located nearby, was built a century later. This steeple is the second tallest in France. The fine pulpit inside represents a scene of Saint Michael on a dragon. The church is listed as a historical monument.
