What a great name this neighborhood of beautiful streets in central Rotterdam has. Once a manor west of Rotterdam, from 1809 to 1816 it was a separate municipality before being annexed by the city. Be sure to take this tour and visit the multitude of the attractions in this fun and friendly district.
1) Pathe Schouwburgplein
The Pathe Schouwburgplein is a cinema located in the center of the Rotterdam. It's a beautiful place which is surrounded by many stores and restaurants where you can grab a snack before the movie. The cinema boats seven screens, one of which is the largest in the Netherlands.

2) Rotterdamse Schouwburg
The Rotterdam Theater was built in 1988 to replace a temporary theater put in place after World War II. Its modern interior looks crisp and fresh with a classical edge, and fits in perfectly with its surroundings on the modern Schouwburgplein square. The theater's program includes more than 500 performances a year in theater, opera, music, dance and other interdisciplinary works.

3) Theater Lantaren / Venster
The Lantaren/ Venster, or L/V for short, is a centrally located theater that is favored by visitors both old and young. Here you'Within the Lantaren/ Venster you will see only four screens that will offer various performances and concerts or show non-commercial films, art movies or various programs for children. If you like to have a drink, you can go to the café that is located inside the art/cinema Lantaren/ Venster. Don’t miss the chance to see performances and concerts.

4) Paradise Church
This church dates back to 1910. Its architecture is characterized by a baroque style, with concerns for sculptural principles, paint, illumination and shadow. While it has been renovated over time, the interior remains preserved in its original state.

5) Maritime Museum of Rotterdam
The Maritime Museum of Rotterdam opened in 1874, making it the oldest maritime museum in the Netherlands. It offers its visitors many different educational programs as well as numerous exhibits. From humble beginnings as a museum with model ships and a small print library, the center's collection of maritime memorabilia has swelled to almost half a million pieces.

6) Waalsekerk
You'll find this church, which dates from the 14th Century, in the Begijnhof district. Its sacristy - still in place today - dates from the 16th Century. Originally a church of the Beguines, since the Reformation it has been a Walloon church.

7) Wilhelminakade (Tower of numbers)
The Wilhelminakade, or Tower of Numbers, offers a magnificent view over the river and the Erasmus Bridge. It's one of the city's top tourist attractions because visitors can watch the skyline of a developing city unfold from this great vantage point.

8) Parking World Port Center
The World Port Center is an amazing skyscraper that could set a trend for major world buildings in the future. The slim, rounded contours of its facade give it a very dynamic appearance. It's also situated in a much sought-after attractive location in Rotterdam. It boasts a conference center on its top levels, as well as a restaurant and an underground car park.
