1) Museo de Armas
Museo de Armas is a small museum dedicated to military paraphernalia. This captivating museum will surprise you with its outstanding collection of old weapons and other interesting military equipment. It is closed on weekends.

Santiago Iglesias Pantin Monument
2) Santiago Iglesias Pantin Monument
Located on Ponce de León Avenue, across the street from the old School of Tropical Medicine, this monument is dedicated to Santiago Iglesias Pantin, one of the most important and influential political figures in Puerto Rican history.

3) Monumento de la Recordación
In front of the beautiful El Capitolio you will see Monumento de la Recordación. This monument was built to commemorate the Puerto Rican solders who lost their lives in World War II. The names of the fallen soldiers are carved on its granite walls.

4) El Capitolio
El Capitolio was built on a hill near Castillo de San Cristóbal in the 1920s. Its architecture is reminiscent of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. Puerto Rico’s rich history is represented inside through various statues of its most important politicians.

Casa de España
5) Casa de España
Casa de España is a beautiful historic building located on Ponce de León Avenue, near El Capitolio. Built in 1932 and designed by the famous Puerto Rican architect, Pedro de Castro, it serves as a private civic and cultural association dedicated to Puerto Rico’s Spanish heritage.
Fort San Cristóbal
6) Fort San Cristóbal
Castillo de San Cristóbal was built by Spain as protection against land attacks on San Juan. It is listed as a San Juan National Historic Site. Castillo de San Cristóbal is the largest fortification built by the Spanish in the New World. When it was finished in 1783, it covered about 27 acres of land and basically wrapped around the city. Entry to the city was sealed by San Cristóbal's double gates. After a period of relative peace, about a third of it was demolished in 1897 to help ease the flow of traffic in and out of the city.

San Juan de Bautista Statue
7) San Juan de Bautista Statue
The statue of San Juan de Bautista is located near the beautiful El Capitolio and historical Castillo de San Cristóbal. This statue is dedicated to John the Baptist, an itinerant preacher and prominent historical religious figure after whom the city was named.
