Tour Stops and Attractions
Wawel Castle
1) Wawel Castle
With the wealth of history and abundance of heritage, the city of Krakow is a haven for admirers of the past. The Wawel is one such place in Krakow where one can get enchanted by the city’s legendary sagas. The Wawel Hill was formed about 150 million years ago and is majorly made up of Jurassic lime stone that dates back to the Oxfordian age. The Hill comprises many historically significant buildings that date back to different eras. Surrounded by water and marshes, archaeologists found evidence of settlers on the Wawel Hill that dates back to early Palaeolithic Age. Situated on the left bank of the Vistula River, Wawel played a significant role in the political and religious history of the city from the first millennium AD. The Wawel Hill was the Royal Residence of the first historical ruler of Poland as well as his successors. Also, the Hill was the first place to have been a Christian centre in Poland. It is one of the first few places in the country to have a Romanesque building erected. With its rich and complex past, along with many historically significant sites, the Wawel has loads to offer its visitors.

Bunkier
2) Bunkier
The Bunkier Sztuki, or known as the Bunker of Art, is one building you will either love terribly or loath absolutely, but either which way, it is something you can’t afford to miss. A haven of modern art in Krakow, the Bunkier houses works of some of the biggest names in contemporary art. Along with that you can also find works of upcoming artists of Polish origin and special moving displays of international origin.

The Bunkier established in the 1960s was amongst the first few art galleries in the city of Krakow. With an unusual shape and structure, it soon caught the eye of locals and tourists alike. The oddly shaped building resembling an army bunker stands in monotones of grey with stone like texture, looking peculiar on the backdrop of the serene, artistic and timeless pieces of history and architecture surrounding it. Nevertheless, through the years the gallery has earned a reputation of being the foremost sanctuary for modern art lovers and enthusiasts, encouraging local artists and upholding soil bred masters. Not only does it display art, the Bunkier is also the place where artist can get trained, meet their idols and discuss trends, techniques and ponder about other things. Lectures and presentations are a normal occurrence in the gallery.

The Bunkier Sztuki is a must visit site in Krakow and when you get exhausted, a quick coffee at the Charming Café must not be missed.

The goal of the staff is the safety and happiness of your children. There are lots of games and competitions organized, favorite cartoon characters entertain visitors, and all things work together to bring families together and help them have a good time.
Aviation Museum
5) Aviation Museum
Krakow is home to many museums of art and craft that throw light on the rich and vibrant past of the city. From the land that has battled many wars, the museum is one place you can see the mementoes of each war proudly displayed. Located on the historical land which was the second largest Polish airfield during the Second World War, the Aviation Museum is another pit stop when on the history tour of the city. Here, you will majorly get to see the Nazi invasion of Poland and the souvenirs of the struggle.

The Aviation Museum is filled with prewar and post war aircrafts which were used by either sides for combat. It is also the only museum in the world to have in its possession, prewar Polish military aircraft collection PZ1P11 which were designed in 1930 and for a brief period, considered the most advanced fighter aircraft in the world. The other contender to level the rarity and exclusiveness of the PZ1P11 is the PWS-26, another aircraft of Polish origin, which is the last survivor of its kind in the world. The aircraft was first captured by the German troops and displayed in the German Aviation Museum as a proud war collection; however, the aircraft was later found in Polish land and later displayed in the museum.
