The St. Mary of Victories Catholic Church was established in 1843. The building was designed as a Renaissance church. The St. Mary of Victories Church is the second oldest catholic church of Saint Louis. The architecture and the inside of the church are outstanding.

Old Cathedral

The Old Cathedral was built in 1818. The Cathedral is the only building on the Gateway Arch grounds and is located just next to the South leg. The Cathedral features fabulous pictures and statues that tell the story of Jesus' Crucifixion. The Cathedral also has a museum attached to it.

The Saint John the Apostle and Evangelist Parish was established in 1847 and has since served the Catholics of Saint Louis. The church was repeatedly renovated, which is why it is in a great condition even today. The interior of the church is fascinating. It contains beautiful paintings, stained glass windows, and other attractive features.

7) Christ Church Cathedral
Christ Church Cathedral in Saint Louis, Missouri was designed by architect Leopold Eidlitz and built between 1859 and 1867. The Gothic revival structure was a statement of the significance of St. Louis as the United States expanded westwards. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1994. The cathedral was built between 1859 and 1867 in the Gothic Revival style, designed by Leopold Eidlitz. The main body of the church was built of Illinois sandstone, with the 1910-1912 tower and porch of Indiana limestone. A smaller sandstone chapel dates to 1893-1895.

Shrine of St. Joseph
8) Shrine of St. Joseph
The Shrine of St. Joseph was built in the 1840s. In 1864 there took place a miracle that was authenticated by the Vatican. After that the church was enlarged several times ending with a Baroque facade, that stands till date, and some towers. The Shrine of St. Joseph is a beautiful tourist attraction too.
