Usually, when we visit a city, we all flock to its unusual features, buildings, super malls and discos, gift shops and so on. But few of us understand the true meaning of a museum. Art or history, biology or army - all these theme based museums tell us a lot more about the character of the inhabitants, about their hobbies, or, about that particular country's traditions, rules and delights. Meet the city you visit, from inside.
1) Museum of Art
This building does not need to be advertised. One look at it and it is very clear that this place breathes art. It is a white buildings, of not very standard shape and with an unusual column outside. The museum does not contain only paintings and graphic art pieces. It also puts on display jewels, some of them very old, but made to look very young! You'll love the journey!

2) Colton Hall Museum
Welcome to the residence of the first mayor of Monterey - Commodore Stockton! It was built in 1840, and has had a very interesting history. This edifice began as the mayor's house and then went on to become the sheriff's office, the Monterey city police headquarters, City Hall, a public school, and finally, the county court house. Today the main floor hosts some city offices and the second floor is a museum. The exhibits contain documents, photographs, official uniforms and a Hall of Fame dedicated to the most famous persons in the history of Monterey.
