Budapest city has an interesting nightlife. Though most of the city retires to bed by 10pm, the many pubs, discos, casinos and clubs that have come up make the rave scene that much more interesting. Most of these places are open until very late or even the next morning. So if you are in the mood for it, just visit one of these places and jive to the beats of music or just relax with a glass of beer and watch your favorite game.

Fat Mo's pub is the best of the many cellar bars in Budapest. Besides, it is also famous as one of the best live music venues. The food here is delicious and they have 14 beers on draught. It is advisable to book a table beforehand, as the place gets quite crowded, especially on weekends. You can choose from a wide variety of local and American-Texas cuisine for your food.

Portside de Cuba

If you want to jive to Cuban music and shake your legs to the music of Cuba’s hottest numbers, "Portside de Cuba" is definitely the place for you in Budapest. This large underground cocktail bar and restaurant is located around Astoria and is one of the good places where you can enjoy your drink and dance the night away to live Cuban tunes.

The “Gerbeaud” at first looks like a typical cafe house. A staircase leads you down to a cellar brewpub and restaurant. The place has a model of a brewery installed on its premises. Besides pale and dark beers, you have an extensive choice of traditional Hungarian food. The upper floors have a coffee shop where you can enjoy coffee and cakes in the Hapsburg style.

The Garage Cafe is almost an "all-in-one" – a top choice disco, a place to watch a football game on the big screen along with a beer, and a good option to have a dinner or a lunch. The best part of this place that the menu has a suggested wine for every dish it has on offer. The loud techno music that is played here makes it a favorite hangout of the young.

The Cactus Juice Pub is famous for its unique atmosphere. It takes its visitors back in time and across the oceans to the wild west of America. It is also well known for the large variety of whiskey available – over 50 blends and the unique cocktails of the pub. At the restaurant, do try the traditional Hungarian pancakes. Located on Jokai square, the joint offers excellent dishes at modest prices.
