One of the best places for you to go to in Cairns. Heritage pub is conveniently situated at the corner of Lake and Spence Streets, so you can't miss it. Tourists adore this place, especially because there's no dress code. ID is required. Dance your way to Heritage, but don’t forget your way home.

Mad Cow Tavern
3) Mad Cow Tavern
Located in Cairns, on Spence Street, Mad Cow Tavern is a less pretentious place where one can have a lot of fun. The local atmosphere makes visitors feel like they are at home. Unlike many other places, entry is free and drinks are cheap. Mad Cow Tavern is well known amongst tourists, and it's the best place to have a big night out.

Shenanigans
4) Shenanigans
A typical Irish Pub located in the heart of Cairns, Shenanigans is the right place for a backpacker. It has four sections: the smoking area, the non-smoking area, the dance floor and of course, the bar, which serves delicious snacks. It also offers an enormous tropical beer garden, which is filled on Friday and Saturday nights. They even have their own band, an old gang of men who really know how to rock it out. Shenanigans has a wide range of cheap drinks and entertaining contests, so go and have a good time.

5) Gilligan's Backpackers Bar & Club
Gilligans's Backpackers Bar & Club is located in Gilligan’s Backpackers Hotel & Resort. It appeals to tourists who are eager to discover the nightlife of a tropical city, such as Cairns. Gilligan’s offers visitors fun and laughter seven nights a week, with competitions and special nights for the ladies. The bar consists of the main beer hall, deck bar and the newest acquisition, the Attic. The Attic atmosphere has the feel of an art venue with an antique and retro interior, a large selection of cocktails, and amazing service.

6) P.J. O'Brien's Irish Pub
P.J. O'Brien's Irish Pub is the best place to drink some Guinness and meet people from all over the world. With 80% of the interior genuine Irish decor, they serve Aussie beers and have a skilled staff. There's good live music playing, and if there's a special event, a huge television screen will broadcast it. There's no dress code, so casual is fine, but sandals aren't allowed. After 11:00 pm the pub transforms itself into a nightclub, with a lot of party people. You can even dance on the bar, if you want to.

7) The Wool Shed Char Grill & Saloon Bar
When in Cairns, you may find that all roads lead to The Wool Shed Bar. It's thought to be the craziest party place in Cairns, and boasts daring competitions, cheap drinks, amazing staff, and good music. After 9:00 pm, the night is just beginning, so you can dance all you want and you can play games to get extra drinks. The place is usually filled with backpackers.

Casa de Meze
8) Casa de Meze
Are you a talented dancer? If you are, than it's wonderful. If you aren't, then it's not a problem. At Casa de Meze one can learn Salsa moves because free lessons are given every Saturday night. Seven days in a row, one can move to the Latin rhythms from 5 pm until late. Casa de Meze also offers a wide range of meals, and some of the most exclusive dishes are the seafood. You can order steamed Sand Crab, Oysters, Octopus, Calamari, or even Moreton Bay Bugs (bay lobsters). And most importantly, especially if you're there for the seafood, at Casa de Meze the platters aren’t loaded with fruit.
