Queen Anne Sightseeing Walk, Seattle

Queen Anne Sightseeing Walk (Self Guided), Seattle

The Queen Anne neighborhood is named for its distinctive architectural style, with a dozen of old houses. These houses have been perfectly preserved and nestle like jewels on verdant green lawns. Most of the other houses were built after 1915, but each has its own unique charm and it is an interesting area to visit.

Nob Hill Avenue North with its expensive condos and mansions is particularly coveted by Seattleites longing to move into this prestigious neighborhood. Queen Anne Avenue runs through the center of the district and this is where you will find some great up-market restaurants and more affordable snack bars. There is also a charming 1930’s Presbyterian Church to visit.

Tour the Robert Ramsay Cellars for a superb wine-tasting experience and browse the stores which include not only boutiques, but also toy shops, hobby stores and home decoration shops. Relax in Kerry Park, a popular, small green park facing south, where mothers stroll with their babies on warm days and where amateur photographers will be able to take some truly stunning photos of Seattle’s skyline with its Space Needle, Elliot Bay, Bainbridge Island and Mount Rainier in the distance.
