1) Dama de Ferro
The Dama de Ferro nightclub is also located in the neighbourhood of Ipanema. It offers clubgoers a mix of electro, house and techno music along with delicious drinks. The club is open Tuesday through Saturday.

2) Bar Lagoa
Bar Lagoa was established in 1934. It's a family-run business. The bar is decorated in Art Deco style. It offers a good choice of beer and an extensive menu. Visit Bar Lagoa and you will have an opportunity to watch the sunset over Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and enjoy a pleasant conversation with your friends. Hours: Monday 6pm-2am, Tuesday-Sunday noon-2am.

3) Baronneti
Baronneti is one of the most popular nightclubs in Rio de Janeiro. This buzzing spot has two large dance floors and a cozy lounge area. Music of different genres is performed by the best DJs. Exploring nightlife in Rio, don't write Baronneti off your list. Hours: Tuesday-Sunday 11pm-5am.

4) Vinicius Piano Bar
Vinicius Piano Bar is located in the very heart of the most vibrant quarter of Rio de Janeiro, the Ipanema. It was established in 1989. Those who like the Brazilian music style Bossa Nova should definitely visit this bar. It's very popular among tourists and locals alike. The bar was named after Vinicius de Moraes who was an outstanding musician. Shows start at 11pm.

5) Lord Jim Pub
Lord Jim Pub was established in 1974. The pub owners recreated for their visitors the atmosphere of a traditional English pub. Posters with English sayings on the walls, the famous red telephone booths by the door, perfect English tea, darts, pints, ales make you feel like you're in a British town rather than in Rio de Janeiro. It's one of the busiest bars in the city.

6) Bar d'Hotel
Looking for a place to have a pleasant conversation with your friends, you should visit Bar d'Hotel that is located on the second floor of the Hotel Marina All Suites. Bar D’hotel attracts a crowd of artists, soccer players, designers and other well-to-do people. It offers Italian cuisine with tropical accents, good selection of drinks and an unforgettable view of the ocean. The place is open Sunday through Wednesday from 08:00 AM to 12:00 AM, and Thursday through Saturday from 07:00 AM to 02:00 AM.

7) Melt
This is a New York-style lounge bar and night club that's frequented mainly by Rio's high society. Its inner decor is dark but cosy. The music sticks to lounge in the evening before it heats up to techno and samba later on. Melt is open Monday and Thursday-Saturday from 10pm to 4am, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11pm to 4am.
