1) Galway Golf Course
The course here is one of the best in the country. The history of the club dates back to 1895. All-Ireland Cups and Shields finals were played here. If you love golf, this is the place to go to.

2) Blackrock Bathing Area
This diving board is actually meant more for experienced swimmers. It is a lot of fun. But this place is also about great views of the ocean that cannot be missed.

3) Salthill Beaches
This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the Irish landscape. The ocean is mostly calm in this region and the views are breathtaking. The only problem with these beaches is that they are often overcrowded with tourists.

4) Leisureland
This is a leading entertainment and health and fitness facility. Here you will find a family friendly environment and great entertainment. Every family member can find something to suit his taste. Leisureland has a swimming pool, an amusement park, an events hall for concerts, and even exhibition and conference rooms.

5) Galway Atlantaquaria
This aquarium is one of the largest in the country. It houses 150 aquatic species. Here you will find the only Interactive Children's Laboratory. The Galway Atlantaquaria allows your children to take part in many interesting experiments and hands-on activities. They include beach excursions, microscopic analyses, classrooms and activities in the Explorer laboratory and the Nautilus classroom.

6) Christ the King Church
Also called the "Salthill Church", this church is home to the Salthill parish. It is a building with a beautiful architecture and an interior designed in the neo-classical style. This is the locals' place of worship and prayer, where they come for the Sunday mass or just to pray on a normal day.

7) Norman Villa Gallery
This gallery specializes in contemporary Irish art. It exhibits paintings and sculpture and prints. The garden is used for exhibiting sculptures and the house is a work of art in itself.

8) Mutton Island Lighthouse
The lighthouse here was built on the site of an old castle which was more a fortress, existing sometime in the 1600s. The lighthouse was built in 1817. The unique element of this place is that this lighthouse was one of the few that allowed the keeper and his family to live here. The locals usually go for a walk on the beach near the impressive lighthouse.
