Whether you want to buy a little souvenir, book, antique, old-tribal art, or merely enjoy the mesmerizing sounds of Vietnamese music, visitors of Hanoi can find it all here. Some affectionately refer to Hanoi as the city where shopping never sleeps, and for good reason. Day or night, the streets of Hanoi will always have something for one to buy.
Tour Stops and Attractions
54 Tradition Gallery
1) 54 Tradition Gallery
54 Tradition Gallery provides an immense collection of antiques and artifacts, some of which are connected to tribal art. If you have already visited the Museum of Ethnology, you'll note the similarities between the two venues. At first sight, one may conclude that 54 Tradition is a gallery and not a store. However, while you may receive a personalized tour from one of the co-owners, 54 Tradition Gallery is indeed a very valuable shop.

Dong Xuan Market
2) Dong Xuan Market
Originally built by the French administration in 1889, Dong Xuan Market has been renovated several times with the latest arriving in 1994 after a fire nearly destroyed the market. Today, Dong Xuan Market is the largest covered market of Hanoi and valued among wholesale traders of clothes, household goods, and food.

If you are looking for traditional Vietnamese music, Ho Guom Audio is the first shop you should visit when arriving in Hanoi. The staff here is really helpful. Customers may listen to select records and if it's what they are looking for, also purchase the products. Be sure to listen to the Dan bau, ca tru, or ca hue melodic sounds which will surely entertain your ear.

Phuong Dong Art Shop
4) Phuong Dong Art Shop
When in Hanoi, you should not forget to bring home some souvenirs and/or acquire a specific memento. At Phuong Dong Art Shop, visitors will discover shelves filled with objects of art - like stone pipes (that look pretty real and functional, but they are actually decorative) and poetry.
