Fes is Morocco’s former capital as well as one of the most important cultural centers in the entire country. Dating back to the late 8th century, this charming city features several fine art galleries, fascinating museums, informative libraries, and other cultural venues.
1) Orientalist Art Gallery
Orientalist Art Gallery is located on the Rue Abdelaziz Boutaleb, in the Ville Nouvelle neighborhood. Orientalist is a local cultural venue with a commercial gallery that offers a large variety of interesting and wonderful works of art from contemporary Fez-based artists.

2) Cinema l'empire
Cinema l'empire is also situated in the contemporary Ville Nouvelle neighborhood, on the well-known city Avenue Hassan. Cinema l'empire features one of the most important Cinema Theaters in the city, and is thus definitely worth a visit.

3) French Institute Library
Situated near the fascinating Cinema l'empire and beautiful Plaza de la Resistencia, the French Institute Library is another important cultural venue of Fes. The library presents French culture through its informative library, various cultural events, as well as expositions.

4) Cultural Center
Cultural Center, or Maison de la culture, is located near the attractive Plaza de la Resistencia (on Boulevard Moulay Youssef). This fine building is the main public library of the former capital of Morocco. Visitors will cherish the wide collection of books and other documents of interest.

5) House of the Qur'an
House of the Qur'an is also located in the Ville Nouvelle neighborhood. Neighbor of the Cultural Center, House of Qur'an provides a cultural and religious establishment for all things Koran. Check it out if you have some free time.
