Locals keep coming back for the great food, the range of unique beers and its relaxed atmosphere with a laid-back modern pub feel. C’est What calls its menu “ethno-clectic” and it’s a perfect blend with its unique setting - the cellar of an historic building in the St. Lawrence Market area. This bar is also the home of an Internet radio station, whatsnext.ca, featuring independently produced recorded music and all performances from the adjoining performance room. 4) Irish Embassy

The Irish Embassy is a favourite with Torontonians for its relaxed atmosphere and awesome food. It is located in the heart of the Financial District in an old bank building from 1873. The Irish Embassy has won the best pub award several years running. The bar now also boasts the Dublin Lounge with mahogany-paneled walls, leather furniture and a genuine antique feel. This is also the best place in town to grab an authentic Irish breakfast on weekends and the late-night menu includes incredible dishes such as smoked salmon on soda bread, a Jameson chicken liver plate and Kilkenny battered haddock.

Located just outside the Air Canada Centre, this place is a sports fan’s dream. With 112 taps, 29 beer brands and the largest HD indoor screen in North America, your eyeballs will be begging for mercy by the time you pay the tab. But don’t just take our word for it - ESPN recently named Real Sports North America’s best sports bar. And they know what they’re doing with their drinks – this bar features an 11-page drink menu, so do your homework and prepare yourself ahead of time and you can step right up and order something as basic as a Molson Canadian ($6.25) to something as delicious as a Louis XIII premium cognac for $180.

6) Grace O’Malley’s

This bar features $12 pitchers on Sundays during football games and 10 cent wings on Monday nights – what more could you ask for? This hotspot for live music has a fun Irish theme that goes beyond tacky shamrocks. The awesome bands it features guarantee you will spend the night on the dance floor and its downtown location puts you at the heart of it all. Don't miss the hotdog carts on the corners of the Entertainment District - they are a favourite with even seasoned Torontonian pub crawlers and they always hit the spot!
