Owner Deric Blackler opened this successful antique store more than 30 years ago. This downtown outlet has antique silver kitchen utensils, Maori carved items, 18th and 19th Century furniture, ceramics, decorative art, fern albums, stuffed animals, naive paintings, vintage posters, and much more.

2) Cathedral Square Market
The Cathedral Square is the heart of Christchurch. What's more, it's not only the main meeting point in the city, but also the main shopping spot. The market here is a real treasure trove for shopaholics, with dozens of stalls selling all kinds of things. Here you will find possum fur clothing, T-shirts, bags, sunglasses, New Zealand wood-ware, jade stones (pounamu), Maori carvings, paua, handknits, jewelry, and much more. Open Wednesday to Saturday, you're sure to find a buzzing atmosphere of buskers, tourists and locals here.

3) Merv Sarson Gallery
Merv Sarson is a painter and sculptor who is famous around New Zealand, as well as all over the world. Specializing in sheet metal, his works show his long standing passion for bird life. You'll be so amazed at how lifelike his sculptures are, you'll want to take one home. The Merv Sarson Gallery is located in the Art Center of Christchurch.

4) Form Gallery
The Form Gallery is a contemporary art retailer conveniently situated in the heart of Christchurch. It offers items by talented New Zealand artists, like cast and blown glass, ceramics and contemporary jewelry, as well as wood, weaving, paua and bronze items. Open for 15 years, it attracts many international customers with its rotating exhibitions.

5) Frogmore

6) DF Souvenirs
DF Souvenirs Company has been selling local souvenirs since 1928. Spread over three floors, this huge family-owned store has something for everybody’s taste. There's a large assortment of clothes including T-shirts, caps, leather goods, footwear, jewelry, carvings, and many more quality gifts.

7) The Inkwell Gift Shop
The Inkwell Gift Shop has gifts and souvenirs of all kinds, but it is most famous for its great collection of handmade teddy bears. Take the delight of meeting all the bears at the shop window and inside - each one is individually designed. There's also a great range of silver and jade jewelry, ceramics, prints, frames, postcards, and carvings. The Inkwell is located on the tram route on Regent Street.

8) NZ Panorama
While not a large city, Christchurch has got a very impressive panorama that takes in the wonders of both nature and man. There are many great photographs which have been taken of this breathtaking view, and you can browse some of them at this eye-catching store.
