1) Van Hecke F Chocolatiere
Van Hecke F Chocolatiere is a high class chocolatiere famous for making handmade chocolates. Their chocolates are not too sweet allowing you to feel the real taste of chocolate. In the summer there is sometimes a cart outside where strawberries in white chocolate are prepared à la minute. This chocolate shop is located just next door to a deli with the same name.

Daskalidès Chocolatier makes some of the best Belgian chocolate. It has been producing chocolate in Gent since 1931. The chocolate here is imaginatively produced and of the highest quality. A variety of pralines are also available. Try some Daskalidès chocolate for yourself or bring some home as a gift.

3) Het Oorcussen
Het Oorcussen is the best shop in which to buy clothes from top Flemish fashion designers. There are clothes for both men and women, and many accessories are for sale as well. You can choose from the collections of such designers as Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten and others.

4) Koren Markt
There are many small shops in the center of Gent that sell local food. These shops can be found on the streets starting from Koren Markt until Sint Baafsstraat. These shops sell everything from chocolate and candy to pastry, cheese and beer. These products are Gent specialties, and you must try them on your visit.

You will find some of the best handcrafted souvenirs and gifts in Gent at Home Linen Kloskanthuis. It sells homemade Belgian linens and embroideries. The designs are both traditional and modern. You can buy accessories, table linen, bed linen, bath linen, lace, blouses, dresses and things for children.

6) Hopduvel
Belgium is well known for its beer. Hopduvel sells more than 400 kinds of this popular drink. It is one of the most-visited tourist shops in Belgium, so there are also glasses and souvenirs available for purchase. Hopduvel-branded beers can only be found here.
