Tour Stops and Attractions
Belly Dance
1) Belly Dance
Unquestionably designed for a female body, this oriental dance has evolved through the influence of various civilizations. It is a dance that involves the belly, hips, and upper body and is usually performed barefooted. The shuddering and shimmying movements can only be characterized as sensual. In Antalya, the Perge Hotel is said to have the most perfect belly dancers.

Turkish Delight
2) Turkish Delight
The people of Turkey have enjoyed Turkish Delight for centuries. A typical weekend family outing will often include a stop for some of this special dessert. Served with coffee or tea, it is a soft, even delicate jelly made from sugar, rose water, and fruit juices that melts in your mouth. Other ingredients include orange flavor, almonds, and other nuts. The best place in Antalya to savor Turkish Delight is the Volkan Restaurant.

Hookah (Nargile)
3) Hookah (Nargile)
People regularly smoke nargile (a water pipe more familiarly known as a hookah) with Turkish coffee after an evening meal as a substitute for cigarettes. Among the types of flavors (with and without tobacco) are fruit (strawberry, apple), herb (mint, cinnamon), molasses, cappuccino, and other diverse flavors from the simple to the exotic. A suggested restaurant in Antalya for travelers to try nargile is Mavi Karga cafe.

Turkish Bath (Hamam)
4) Turkish Bath (Hamam)
A required experience during a vacation to Turkey is a trip to hamam or Turkish Bath. Traditionally, people would gather for ceremonies, socialization and gossip, as well as cleansing. You will pass through a series of rooms (camekan, hararet, etc.) to don a pestamal (fringed towel), linger in warm or hot rooms, and receive a thorough massage. Many hamams were built during the Ottoman period, and today you will find them in nearly any hotel in Turkey, including the Cender Hotel.

Turkish Coffee
5) Turkish Coffee
The practice of serving Turkish coffee has played a significant role in Turkish tradition and society for many centuries. Beginning with finely ground coffee, water, and optional sugar or spices, boil three times over a low fire and pour into small cups, making sure to have a healthy amount of froth. A highly recommended place in Antalya to savor a good Turkish coffee is the Degusta restaurant.

Turkish Baklava
6) Turkish Baklava
Among the wide variety of Turkish sweets, a favorite here is baklava. Antalya residents even organize parties featuring this refined dessert. Its unique appearance will draw your attention; one taste will keep you coming back for more. A tasty baklava begins with delicate dough and quality fillings, but the best recipes have their own secrets that make you want to try this delicious treat again and again. Ünlüoğlu is Antalya's favorite baklava shop.

Evil Eye Bead
7) Evil Eye Bead
It is believed that the nazar or evil eye bead, a blue glass amulet with a stylized eye on it, protects people around the world. This belief is found in Europe, the Mediterranean, the Middle East and South Asia, where it is very common to use evil eye beads or offer them to guests. They are displayed in doorways, cars, or as jewelry worn by people of all ages, especially babies. Check out the Komaş Antalya Store as a source of these popular talismans.
