Orlando is synonymous with fun and excitement. It is practically the amusement park capital of the U.S., attracting millions of tourists each year from all around the world. There is such a wide variety of entertainment here, that both children and adults will be easily drawn in to the adventures that await them in this wonderful city.
1) Universal Studios Florida
Universal Studios is a popular theme park located in Orlando, Florida. The park receives over 5 million visits per year. It opened in 1990 and was the first theme park at the Universal Orlando Park.
Part theme park and part studio, the Universal Studios is made up of six attractions, Production Central, New York, San Francisco/Amity, World Expo, Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone and Hollywood. Featured within those attractions are Jaws, Revenge of the Mummy, the Simpsons Ride, and many others. Rides like the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will make you lose your balance, if not your lunch. One of the best attractions is the Donkey’s Photo Finish that allows you to interact with the cast of Shrek. If you don’t want to partake of the rides, you can always visit the studios on the grounds.
Visitors who stay at one of the three on-site hotels can use their room key to access special entrances that allow you to avoid the long lines for the rides. The park also has many restaurants, such as Beverly Hills Boulangerie or Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Café, as well as gift shops, such as Universal Studios Store, Studio Sweets, It's a Wrap!, and Shrek's Ye Olde Souvenir Shoppe. Although closing times vary, the park is generally open seven days a week from 9 am to 7 pm 365 days a year.

2) Fun Spot Action Park
The Fun Spot Action Park allows children to experience all things fun on five acres of land. The park features three major attractions: the Multi Level Go-Kart Tracks, the Thrill Rides, and the Kid Spot. A total of 120 arcade games, 13 rides, a 100-foot Ferris wheel, and four multi-level go-kart tracks ensure that all will definitely have fun before the day ends. The nearby park restaurants, Perky Pizza and the Oasis Bar, offer tasty treats.
The park offers traditional fun at an affordable cost. Four packages are available for guests, the Go-Kart Armband, the Rides Armband, the Kid Spot Armband, and the Track Sampler. Each package, except for the Track Sampler, allows unlimited use of the rides. Group packages are available for groups of 10 or more.
The park also hosts birthday parties. Those who wish to use the facility for birthdays can choose from the Arcade Package, the Rides Package, or the Unlimited Package. A variety of add-ons are available that allow customers to choose different food configurations, a decorated room with hostess, or goody bags. Even adults will enjoy the old-school Classic Quarter Arcade and Winners Circle Arcade. The park is open daily from 10 am to 12 am.

3) Wet 'n Wild
Wet ‘n Wild was founded by Sea World creator George Millay in 1977. It was one of Florida’s first major water parks and features 60 acres of pure entertainment. There is something for everyone at Wet ‘n Wild.
The rides Brain Wash, Disco H2O, and the Surge will provide hours of entertainment. The park also has the Wave Pool Surf Lagoon, Lazy River, and Wild Tiki Lounge for the less adventurous. A Science Challenge program allows students to see the connection between science concepts as they relate to the recreational area and the Sun ‘n Sounds venue gives bands the opportunity to perform their songs on the stage.
There are numerous restaurants throughout the park to address the palates of all. Polynesian, barbecue, carnival, vegetarian, burgers, ice cream, and pizza are just some of the foods you will enjoy. In addition, beverages are available at the many concession stands located throughout the park. A variety of discount packages are available. There are packages for groups of 15 or more, party packages for a minimum of 200 guests, and discount packages for youth groups and corporations.
Although the hours vary, and one should check the website for accuracy, the park is open year-round from 10 am and closes at 5 pm. The Breakers Beach Shop sells water-related items, swimsuits, sunglasses, sportswear, hats, as well as sunscreen and disposable cameras. Pools are heated during the winter to eliminate chill. Smoking is allowed in designated areas. Alcoholic beverages, glass containers, and grills are prohibited.

4) Magical Midway
Located on International Drive, the Magical Midway is an amusement park that takes park rides to the extreme. There are also many traditional attractions as well. Two popular rides are the Sling Slot and the Starflyer. The Sling Shot shoots participants 180 feet into the air, while the Starflyer takes riders to the top of a 230 foot cylinder where they are spun at 54 miles per hour. The park also has shooting games, ski ball, bumper car rides, guitar hero, and basketball for the more sedate patrons. The elevated go-cart trails are a must-do if you visit the park.
Other rides and tracks include Character Art, Hair Braiding, Carousel, Jumping Castle, Bungee Trampolines, Space Shot, Bumper Boats, and Bumper Cars. Admission and parking are free, but there are height and age restrictions for those who drive and ride in the go-carts. Three packages are available for groups and birthday parties and coupons and promotions are offered frequently.
The nearby eatery features New York style pizza, ice cream, and other tasty refreshments. The park is open Monday through Tuesday from 2 pm to 10 pm, Wednesday through Friday from 2 pm to midnight, and Saturday through Sunday from 10 am to midnight.
5) Wonderworks
The WonderWorks is an amusement park that is truly a work of wonder. This upside down amusement parks takes learning about science to a whole new level. Some of the neat things you can do at the center include building your own roller coaster, making a 3-D impression of your body, virtually swimming with the sharks, or experiencing 65 miles per hour hurricane force winds, or a 5.3 degree earthquake.
Educational tours are available for schools and include lesson plans and activities. The park also has several programs for youth organizations. Whether you want to host a small party or a large corporate event, the facility can assist you. In addition, the park is an excellent place to host a birthday celebration. For those who wish to tickle their funny bone, a visit to the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show is recommended. Tours of WonderWorks is also available for groups of 15 or more.
The local gift shop sells an array of souvenir paraphernalia and will even ship the merchandise to you. The local café sells New York style pizza, popcorn, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, salads, pretzels, and other tasty treats. The park is open daily from 9 am to 12 am.
