Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars, Hong Kong

Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars, Hong Kong

Located in Kowloon Park, Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars is a vibrant and captivating area that pays homage to the rich heritage of Hong Kong comics. Established in 2012, the avenue takes inspiration from the renowned Avenue of Stars and stands as the world's first Avenue of Stars with a focus on comic art.

Stretching for approximately 100 meters between Kung Fu Pavilion and Art Fun Square, Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars is a delightful attraction for locals and tourists alike. It was meticulously organized by the Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation in collaboration with the Hong Kong Productivity Council, with the aim of celebrating the iconic characters from Hong Kong comics spanning several decades, from the 1960s to the 2010s.

One of the remarkable features of the avenue is the presence of handprints of esteemed Hong Kong cartoonists adorning the road. These handprints serve as a testament to the indelible mark these artists have left on the industry. As visitors explore the avenue, they are greeted by 24 larger-than-life painted sculptures of beloved classic characters from Hong Kong comics. Each sculpture stands tall with a height of up to 3 meters, capturing the essence and spirit of these iconic figures.

Additionally, the avenue houses a comic education gallery, designed to provide valuable insights into the creative process and techniques employed by comic artists. This educational space serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring comic enthusiasts, allowing them to delve into the world of comic creation and fostering a deeper appreciation for the art form.
