Dairy Freya (Zuivelfabriek Freia), Arnhem

Dairy Freya (Zuivelfabriek Freia), Arnhem (must see)

Freya Dairy was the first dairy in the Dutch province of Friesland. The private dairy was founded by Reduces Bokma de Boer. In 1890 the factory was sold to Gentius Wybrandi, who died in 1905. In 1918 the factory was connected to the electricity grid. In 1919 the company had more than fifty employees and was therefore one of the largest dairies in New Jersey. The Anema family remained owner of the company until 1969. In 1991 the dairy was rebuilt in the Dutch Open Air Museum.
