Specializing in antique paintings and fine art objects, Douwes Fine Art is situated near Amsterdam's famous Museum Quarter. An art business that was established in 1805, the Douwes family tradition started with a restoration workshop as early as the 1760s. Today, its gallery is managed by the family's sixth generation of art, and is considered one of the oldest of its kind in the Netherlands and Europe. The gallery offers a wide collection of 16th to 21st century paintings and drawings, as well as masterpieces from Amsterdam Impressionists, Hague School, Russian Social Realism and Classic Modern Art. In addition, Douwes Fine Art also offers a full package of services, including restoration, valuation and purchase of paintings.
