Evangelicanska cerkev (Evangelical Church), Ljubljana

The Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession is the country's largest Protestant denomination and the second-largest Christian community, tracing its roots back to the 16th-century Reformation led by the Augustinian monk and theologian Dr. Martin Luther. In Slovenia, the Reformation ideas found fervent dissemination during the 16th century through the efforts of the first evangelical superintendent Primož Trubar.

In 1850, amidst the burgeoning liberalization in religious affairs, around 200 Protestants in Ljubljana, formerly part of the Trieste Evangelical Church congregation, established their own parish. Architect Gustav Lahn was tasked with constructing the church, having previously contributed to the construction of the German City Theater (now the Slovenian National Theater) in Maribor in 1848. Following his design, a neo-Romanesque-style hall church with encircling galleries was erected.

Within the church, a wooden pulpit is accessible via twin staircases on the left and right sides. Adorning the wall behind the pulpit is an 1852 oil painting by Pavel Künl, portraying Jesus conversing with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. The church also houses an 1888 organ crafted by France Goršič.
