Allianz Parque, Sao Paulo

Allianz Parque, Sao Paulo

Allianz Parque, alternatively referred to as Palestra Itália Arena, stands as a versatile stadium located in São Paulo. It was specifically constructed to host a wide range of events, including shows, concerts, corporate gatherings, and most notably, football matches featuring Palmeiras, the stadium's proprietor. Accommodating up to 43,713 spectators, this venue boasts one of the most contemporary multipurpose facilities in the country. It adheres to all the standards set by FIFA, enabling it to host prestigious sporting tournaments. The construction of the stadium commenced in 2010, under the planning expertise of Portuguese architect Tomás Taveira.

The new stadium was developed by WTorre Properties/Arenas, a subsidiary of the WTorre Group. It now occupies the same site where the old Palestra Itália Stadium, colloquially known as Parque Antárctica, once stood.

On September 3, 2014, the architectural design of the arena was honored with the Master Award at the 11th edition of the Grand Prix of Corporate Architecture, a highly esteemed architecture accolade in Latin America. The arena also received the Sports Spotlight Award in the "Completed Work" category. These recognitions were based on two evaluation criteria: the architectural quality of the project and its regional benefits. Notably, the project's positive impact extended to various sectors such as healthcare, education, sports, hospitality, and offices.
