Jardin d'Essai du Hamma (Botanical Garden Hamma), Algiers

The Botanical Garden Hamma, established in 1832, is the most marvelous park and botanical garden in the city. The aroma of the exotic flora combined with the scent of the sea will charm you. The organization that runs the garden not only keeps it looking amazing, but also studies, maintains and cultivates a variety of trees, plants and bushes.

The Botanical Garden Hamma also supplies the city markets with exotic products such as cocoa, coffee and cotton. The garden is divided into three main sections, which include the Garden of the Frenchmen, the Garden of the Englishmen and the Zoological garden. A remarkable fountain sits at the center of the park.
