Kunstmuseum Den Haag (Hague Art Museum), Hague

The Hague Art Museum (Kunstmuseum Den Haag), designed by the Dutch architect H.P. Berlage, was constructed between 1931 and 1935. The museum houses approximately 165,000 artworks spanning various artistic mediums. Notably, the Art Museum is celebrated for possessing the world's most extensive collection of Mondrian's works, with his final masterpiece, "Victory Boogie-Woogie," prominently displayed within its galleries.

Additionally, within the Art Museum complex, there are two other institutions: GEM, which is a museum dedicated to contemporary art, and Foto Museum, which focuses on photography. These two museums operate independently from the main building and have separate admission fees.

The museum's collection of modern art encompasses pieces from international artists such as Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, and Pablo Picasso, as well as Dutch artists like Charlotte Dumas, Pyke Koch, Piet Mondriaan, Charley Toorop, Jan Toorop, and Hans Wilschut. Furthermore, the museum boasts an extensive collection of 19th and 20th-century prints, posters, and drawings, comprising approximately 50,000 items.

The museum's fashion collection includes various items such as accessories, jewelry, drawings, and prints, encompassing both historical and contemporary pieces. However, to ensure their preservation, these items are only exhibited during temporary exhibitions. The museum's music collection is noteworthy, featuring a wide array of musical instruments and a music library, with a particular emphasis on European music.

The museum hosts approximately 25 to 30 exhibitions annually. In 2021 and 2022, some of the featured artists and designers included Paula Rego from Portugal, Cristóbal Balenciaga from the Basque region, and Grayson Perry from England. Notably, the 2021 exhibition titled "Monet: The Garden Paintings" was recognized as the top museum exhibition in the Netherlands.
