Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Terço, Recife

Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Terço, Recife

Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Terço was built in 1726. Before the construction of the church on the site there was only a niche with the image of Our Lady. The altar of the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Terço was carved by José de Souza. Within the church there are several images of saints and of Our Lady, along with many elegant ornamental decorations featuring classic and baroque styles. The church's narrow V-shape mirrors the junction of Rua Vidael de Negreiros and Rue Direita. To reach it from Avenida Dantas Berreta, turn left at the Rua Passo da Patria and go about 100 meters until you reach the second crossroad, where the white-wall church will be within sight.
