Lianhu Park, Xian

Lianhu Park in Xi'an, is a place steeped in history and natural beauty, offering a serene escape within an urban setting. This park, located on the site of the Miyagi Edward Mun Tang Dynasty ruins, is the oldest in Xi'an and is deeply rooted in Chinese history. Its origins can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty, when Zhu Shuang, the second son of the Ming emperor, transformed a low-lying area into a pool, creating palace gardens with an artificial lake. The excavation for this lake led to the planting of lotuses, giving the park its name "Lotus Pond."

The park underwent significant changes during the Qing Dynasty. In 1668, under the governance of Jia Fu Han, the governor at the time, the park was dredged and renamed "Free Life." However, it was only in 1916 that the park was opened to the public as "Lianhu Park," becoming a popular site for locals and tourists alike.

Today, Lianhu Park is not only a historical landmark but also a recreational haven. It caters to leisure lovers and nature enthusiasts with its distinctive landscapes and a variety of activities suitable for all ages. The park is particularly family-friendly, offering entertaining games for children, including an electronic car circuit and a playground with swings and slides. The lake is a central feature of the park, providing an opportunity for boating, allowing visitors to enjoy a scenic tour of the lake with family and friends. This blend of historical significance and recreational facilities makes Lianhu Park a unique and cherished part of Xi'an's cultural and natural heritage.
