The Boise River Greenbelt follows the river from Eagle, Idaho all the way to Lucky Peak State Recreation Area. The trail runs approximately 46 miles with plenty of connections to trails along the way. The river runs through the heart of Boise, providing access to popular parks and recreation areas. One may see everything from ducks to bald eagles.

There are twelve connected parks along the river called "the Ribbon of Jewels." Each park is named for one of Boise's outstanding civic-minded women.
