TIFF Bell Lightbox, Toronto

The cultural center in Toronto known as TIFF Bell Lightbox serves as the headquarters for the Toronto International Film Festival and hosts various film screenings and specialty film festivals throughout the year. TIFF Bell Lightbox is a five-story building that encompasses five cinemas, two restaurants, major exhibitions and galleries, a gift shop, a rooftop terrace, and learning studios. Within the cinema complex, there is also a film reference library, galleries, and workshops.

The theaters at TIFF Bell Lightbox offer carefully curated programming, including both special screenings and new releases. Some of the films showcased are tied to the exhibitions or retrospectives of notable actors or filmmakers. The reference library and film archives, accessible to the public, house publications, archival movies, as well as research and study spaces.

In 2010, TIFF Bell Lightbox became the permanent home of the Toronto International Film Festival, moving from Yorkville to King West. Plans involve the addition of a "Cinema Tower" with five more theaters on the north side of the block. Other notable festival venues in the area include Roy Thomson Hall and the Scotiabank Theatre.

Additionally, the Lightbox hosts other events such as the Inside Out Film and Video Festival and the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival. The galleries at TIFF Bell Lightbox present exhibitions focused on film and art history. The fourth-floor gallery is open to the public free of charge, while the main gallery on the first level hosts larger paid exhibitions. Past exhibitions have featured retrospectives of renowned artists and filmmakers like Federico Fellini, Grace Kelly, James Bond, David Cronenberg, Stanley Kubrick, and most recently, Andy Warhol.
