Museo del Barro, Asuncion (must see)

Museo del Barro is one of Asuncion's most popular tourist attractions, and the building itself is architecturally stunning. Established in 1979, the museum showcases ceramics, contemporary paintings, pre-Columbian handicrafts, and interesting caricatures of famous people. It also displays figures of saints, some of which date back to the 16th century. There are several exhibits that feature the craft of Nanduti, better-known as spider web needlework. The museum store sells high-quality items made by local craftsmen. The museum is open Thursday- Saturday 9 am- 12 pm/ 3:30 pm- 8 pm.
