Museo Militar, Bogota

The Military Museum of Bogota is located in the heart of the La Candelaria neighbourhood, in the 18th century historic building that belonged to Antonio Ricaurte, a hero of the Independence War. The museum was opened in 1982 by Luis Carlos Camacho, at the time serving as Minister of Defense. The museum showcases a vast collection of accessories, weapons, automobiles, uniforms and various elements that frame the historical and technical evolution of the Colombian Army, Navy and the Air Force. You can also see the dioramas and the audio-visual system that show the Battle of Pantano de Vargas (July 25, 1819). Admission is free on Mondays.
