Historium Museum, Brugge

The Historium is a cultural-historical attraction on the Grote Markt in Bruges . Based on various experiences, one can see how Bruges was buzzing during the Golden Age at the time of Jan Van Eyck. It also includes a Duvel café with free entry (the Duvelorium ), a virtual reality experience, a terrace with a panoramic view, a Gothic tower and a department of the city's tourism office.

The NV Historium was founded on January 17, 2006 under the name MOH ( Museum of History ). An extraordinary meeting of shareholders decided on April 10, 2012 to change the name to Historium and to move the registered office to Markt 1, 8000 Brugge.

The founders were companies belonging to the Brackx , Vandamme and Claeys-De Nolf (Roularta) families . The Brackx family is no longer a shareholder.

The Historium is an experience museum.

In seven themed rooms, a story is told through film, sets and special effects. In the exhibition you will find additional information about Bruges' Middle Ages.

Since 2015, there has been a virtual reality experience showing what Bruges looked like in the year 1435.

Since 2019, the 145 steps of the Gothic tower can be climbed.
