U Fleku (brewpub), Prague

U Fleku (brewpub), Prague

Europe's oldest brewpub, in operation since 1499, offers a delectable albeit slightly overpriced dark beer, with approximately 2,000 pints poured daily. Despite its spacious layout spanning eight halls and a garden, securing a seat can be challenging due to the influx of tours, particularly in the evenings.

Aside from its renowned brew, the establishment boasts a brewery museum and hosts lively cabaret shows. However, visitors can simply drop in to savor the beer, preferably during daylight hours to avoid the evening rush.

Tip:
Exercise caution regarding unordered shots of liquor placed on your table by waitstaff. Failure to promptly request their removal may result in unexpected charges on your bill, and service levels may vary from indifferent to brusque. Nevertheless, the jovial, convivial atmosphere of clinking mugs and hearty camaraderie more than compensates for any minor inconveniences.
