Plaza de la República (Republic Square), Guadalajara

Plaza de la República is home to Monumento a la Madre Patria, which is one of the city’s prominent monuments. The monument depicts a female figure, which symbolizes Motherland and she holds in her left hand the national flag of Mexico. She appeals to Mexico's generations to protect, respect and preserve the country. On Sundays the square becomes home to the market "Trocadero" where you can find antique objects.
