Sinagoga di Livorno, Livorno

The Synagogue of Livorno is located on a large square not far from Piazza Grande. It was built by architect Angelo Di Castro in 1962 on the site of an ancient synagogue destroyed during WWII. The striking, contemporary design of the building beautifully contrasts with city’s strict classical architecture.
