Teatro Carlo Goldoni, Livorno
Teatro Carlo Goldoni was built in the middle of the 19th century, and today it is the only national theater in Livorno that survived the bombings of WWII. The popular, young local architect, Giuseppe Cappellini, put his energy and passion into creating this fine piece of neo-Classical architecture. The rich decorative features of the balconies and the completely transparent glass roof, supported by a web of steel beams, mark a great achievement in Livorno's architectural evolution.
