Teatro Cánovas, Malaga

The Teatro Cánovas is situated on the hill of El Ejido, in the Centro district. It was opened in 1991; since 2005 it is managed by the Consejería de Cultura de la Junta de Andalucía. In January 2008, the Teatro Cánovas’ stage space expands with the addition of the Sala Gades, which is seen as a way to increase the cultural offer provided by the theater. Today, its annual program’s highlights are: the Cycle of Theater and Dance, Pop Rock Cycle, Cycle of Contemporary Music, the Cycle Flamenco Viene del Sur and the Festival Theater with Puppets, Object and Visual.
