The Bournemouth Natural Science Society, established as a registered charity in 1903, has steadfastly pursued its mission to foster curiosity and appreciation for the natural world and history. Through a diverse array of activities including lectures, exhibitions, field meetings, and social gatherings, the society engages its members and the community at large.

The heart of Bournemouth Natural Science Society lies within its museum, housed in a magnificent late Victorian Grade II listed building on the outskirts of Bournemouth town center. Here, a treasure trove of natural history specimens awaits, from preserved plants and animals to fossils, rocks, and minerals. The museum boasts an impressive Egyptology collection featuring a 2500-year-old mummy, adding a touch of ancient intrigue to its offerings. Complementing the tangible artifacts are extensive photographic archives dating back to the 19th century, as well as two libraries housing over 5000 volumes for member access.
