Femina Theatre, Bordeaux

Femina Theatre, Bordeaux

Established in 1921 within the heart of Bordeaux, the Femina Theater stands as a distinguished concert venue of great prestige. During the 1930s and 1940s, it underwent a transformation into a cinema, steered by Pathé-Nathan. For fifty years, it carried out this cinematic role before transitioning into a dynamic theater and performance space in 1977. It was during this period that its ambitious expansion endeavors took shape. The expansive auditorium, capable of hosting 1,200 attendees, is adorned predominantly in two hues: regal gold and striking red. The capitals, doors, and ceiling are adorned in opulent gold, while the plush velvet armchairs exude a comfortable red ambiance.

The current décor of the Femina Theater hall seamlessly marries two distinct styles, namely, the opulent Louis XVI and the artistic Art Nouveau. This embellishment was made possible through a collaborative agreement between project advocates and the City of Bordeaux. Since 2004, the administration of the theater has been entrusted to two enterprises: Alhambra Production & Euterpe Promotion. A century after its inaugural moment, the Femina Theater stands as a pinnacle of Bordeaux's theatrical, dance, and operatic experiences, a cornerstone of cultural significance in the southwest of France. Throughout its existence, the Femina Theater in Bordeaux has magnetized the most illustrious French and international artists.
