Trammell & Margaret Crow Asian Art Museum, Dallas

Trammell & Margaret Crow Asian Art Museum, Dallas (must see)

The Trammel & Margaret Crow Asian Art Museum is located in downtown Dallas, and is an integral part of the Arts District. The location was started as a private collection of Asian Art, and was ultimately given to the people of the city as a gift by the couple. It was opened to the general public in 1998. You can find the works of the countries of Japan, China, Southeast Asia and India displayed here. It is a great place to go for a quiet walk or meditation during a busy visit to town.

The collection has over three hundred paintings, architectural items and sculptures. One of the most interesting pieces is the 120 piece collection of Jade art from the personal items that used to belong to the Crows. The world’s second largest crystal ball is also here. You can find pieces on display here that date all the way back to 3500 B.C. There is a sculpture garden close by where you can see the famous sculpture “Genius of Eternal Rest”, which was done by Rodin.

The location is a true gift to the people of Dallas, and the world, in that admission is always free. That’s a real budget saver.
