Hengistbury Head Beach, Bournemouth

Hengistbury Head Beach, Bournemouth

Hengistbury Head Beach, situated on the southern coast, boasts a distinctive landscape characterized by its south-facing pebble beach, accompanied by imposing clay and ironstone cliffs. Further along, at Mudeford Spit, the terrain transitions to soft sandy beaches, bordered by the iconic and vibrant Mudeford beach huts.

Positioned at the eastern extremity of a 9.5-mile uninterrupted stretch of golden beaches spanning from Sandbanks through Bournemouth to Boscombe, Hengistbury Head Beach maintains a relatively unblemished ambiance devoid of typical commercialism. Primarily sandy with intermittent sections of shingle, the beach is bordered by sand dunes and sandy cliffs towards its terminus. Beyond its scenic appeal, Hengistbury Head is a favored destination for walkers, particularly those accompanied by dogs, as canine companions are permitted on the beaches throughout the year.
