It’s known as the “Venice of the East.” And it’s not hard to see why. Strolling along the streets, visiting the nearby temples and soaking in the beauty of the town. All equally as brilliant. But if you want to see the best of Udaipur you must take in its rooftop settings.

1. Jeel’s. As soon as we arrived, fellow travellers said this was the place for authentic coffee. We were not disappointed with the view nor the cappuccino. We also had breakfast here, though we suggest just visiting for the coffee. And be sure to pop in at night too for a cold beer!

2. Nukkad Guest House. One of the many places to visit if you fancy doing morning yoga (8am-9am). The class is by donation (we paid 15o rp per person) and the style offered is Ashtanga. Including a mix of relaxation, breathing and asanas. You’ve got to try yoga in India…at least a few times  ...... (follow the instructions below for accessing the rest of this article).
