Eating on a Budget in Cancun, Mexico, Cancun, Mexico (B)
Many people think that Cancun is an expensive place to stay and eat out. That is the case when you try to find food in the hotel zone. But if you know where to go, eating out on a budget in Cancun is more than possible.
Parque las Palapas is a square with a lot of different food stalls, you can get a taco for 5 MXN among others. You can find everything here from small snacks, to main dishes, whole menus and desserts.
I especially like the third stall when you come from Avenida Tulum. Here you get a soup, a main dish and a juice for 45 MXN. The main dish is huge, you can order for example a deep-fried beef filet with rice, salad, beans and avocado, the same with fish or meat balls. I always eat twice from this dish.
Coming from Avenida Tulum to the Parque las Palapas, you pass Calle Tulipanes. Here you find some restaurants and other food stalls. My favorite Taco place in Cancun can be found here. You can either order 5 tacos al pastor or 2 gringas (the difference to a taco is the bigger size and cheese in it) for 25 MXN. Almost at Parque las Palapas, you find a pizza stall on the left. When standing in front of the pizza place, go to the stall to the left and buy your tacos. ...... (follow the instructions below for accessing the rest of this article).
