How to Make the Most of 5 Days in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California (B)

With so many options for things to see and do in Los Angeles, it can be hard to decide how to spend your time. Having lived in LA for six years, here’s how I would make the most of five days if it were my first time visiting:

Day 1: Today, be a total tourist in Hollywood. Measure your hands against your favorite celebrity’s handprints at the Forecourt of the Stars at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, see how many names you recognize at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, take a picture with your dream date at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, sample some tunes at Amoeba Music, and relax under the stars with an evening movie in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (if available). Grab a Double Double burger at In ‘N Out, and if you’re still craving more action, head to one of Hollywood’s many nightclubs for a crazy night out.

Day 2: Start your day by driving up the scenic PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) for a refreshing surf lesson or stand-up paddleboard session in Malibu, and on your way back down, swing by the famous Getty Villa in the Pacific Palisades. Then stop by Santa Monica to explore the pier, ride the Ferris wheel, and shop around Third Street Promenade. Continue along by renting a bike and cruising down the strand to Venice Beach to see the graffiti walls, skate park, muscle beach gym, and experience the hipster vibe. If you’re keen for some nightlife while you’re on the coast, try James Beach, Nikki’s, or barhop along Abbot Kinney if you’re in Venice, or in Santa Monica check out the Bungalow (arrive early unless you’re ready for a long line) or any of the bars along Main Street. ......
