Cusco is a picturesque city I fell in love with the first moment I went through its small alleyways in a taxi. Yes, the city is touristy and you will notice it everywhere you go. But that doesn’t steal it its charm.

During my time in Cusco I stayed in my favorite neighborhood in town: San Blas – the neighborhood of the artists. The following walking tour requires at least a normal level of fitness. You will be walking up (and later down) a lot of stairs as San Blas is situated up different mountains. But I guarantee you that each and every stair you climb is worth it.

If you haven’t eaten yet, grab breakfast in Jack’s cafe. It is one of the best places in town and that’s not a secret. I went there three times until I finally found a free table. They offer all day breakfasts, sandwiches, soups and fresh drink among others and are open 365 days a year.
