Spain, Barcelona Guide (B): When in Barcelona

When in Barcelona
Earlier this week we were going through some of the pictures from our Spain trip reminiscing about the beautiful places we visited and we came across some of the attractions in Barcelona, which we had not shared in our blog. So here are the five places in Barcelona that are just as delightful as Gaudi’s masterpieces:

1. Glory of Catalan Concert Hall

Spain has about 40 UNESCO World Heritage Sites all over the country and during our stay in Spain we got an opportunity to visit five among them including the Palau de la Musica Catalana. The concert hall was one of the first few structures representing the Catalan cultural movement and a masterpiece of its kind. Although we were unable to watch any concert in this extraordinary place, we managed to book a guided tour (17 Euros per person) and have an opportunity to admire the concert hall.

Every nook and corner of the hall has an artistic piece that we were completely in awe of and could not help but imagine the glory of the place when the world’s best artists perform here. Palau de la Musica Catalana was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1997 along with Hospital de Sant Pau for its unique and imaginative architectural style.
