Main Street Antiques Hunting Walk (Self Guided), Vancouver

There is lots of great shopping on Vancouver's Main Street, a major thoroughfare with an eclectic mix of shops. Among them are clothing, carpet, book and home accessory stores. This is a vibrant and animated shopping area that also has much to offer shoppers embarking on an antique hunting journey.

The entire street was once known as Antique Row, but today, that name applies to the section between 16th and 25th avenues. There is a good selection of stores offering a treasure chest of collectibles and nostalgia. Bargain hunters will find funky pieces from the 1960s, industrial furniture, vintage clothing, marine based items and much more. Elsewhere on the street are mesmerizing antique stores that specialize in Asian, European and North American antiques. If you love antiques, there is a lot here to set the pulse racing.

During your visit to Main Street, you may feel as if you are in something of a time warp, because many of the buildings were constructed in the early part of the 20th century. This includes Postal Station C, a heritage structure at the corner of Main Street and 15th Avenue. The brown stone building was constructed in 1915 and features a beautiful clock tower.
